McIlwain's talk tonight will be at MLH room 100
Because of a water leak leading to major repairs in the Lewis-Clark State College Administration Building, Charlton McIlwain’s discussion on “A New Conversation About Race: The 2008 Election, President Obama and the Future of American Race Relations?” for Tuesday night has been moved to Room 100 of Meriwether-Lewis Hall on the LCSC campus.
The event, which is part of the LCSC Humanities Division’s Visiting Scholar program, begins at 7:30 p.m. and is free and open to the public.
A new water main is currently being installed in the Administration Building, replacing the old one that was installed when the building was constructed in 1921. The old one developed a leak on Friday and water to the building had to be shut off.
On Monday, workers ran a new water line from the existing meter to the building. As of early Monday afternoon, LCSC officials said water service likely won’t be restored to the building until Tuesday.
Normal class and office hours were held in the Administration Building on Monday, although restrooms in other buildings had to be used.
