IT urges not to give out personal information
From the IT department.
If you receive the following email, do not follow its instructions. Do not send your password to these people. In fact, do not send your password to anyone. No one on campus will ever ask you to validate your login information via email.
This type of communication is simply trying to trick you into providing personal information that can be used to compromise you or the college. The same thing might happen on the phone, where someone tells a story and then asks you to give up your password, credit card, or SSN.
If you have the slightest doubt about the authenticity of a message you receive on campus, please report it to the help desk (x2231).
