Cultural exchange set with students from area and Ecuador
04-02-09
Lewis-Clark State College Center for Arts & History program will hold a cultural exchange day with students from Sacajawea Junior High, Lapwai Junior and Senior High Schools, and Ecuador on April 8 starting at 9 a.m. at the Lewis-Clark State College Student Union Building.
An exchange between the students examines the similarities and differences between teenagers in the United States and other countries while promoting cultural understanding. Events for the day include a viewing of the junior high art exhibit showing at the SUB lounge, performances by Lapwai and Ecuadorian students, and an opportunity for the students to share their perspectives with each other through conversation and artistic activity.
This event, which is expected to wrap up around noon, is made possible by a Target Field Trip Grant awarded to Sacajawea Junior High through a partnership with the Center for Arts & History. The students from Ecuador are in the area through collaboration between the United States Agency for International Development and Washington State University.
The LCSC Center for Arts & History offices have moved due to fire, and are currently located in the Sam Glenn Building on the LC Campus. Information regarding CAH events can be found on the web at www.lcsc.edu/museum , or by calling (208)792-2243.
