CAH to have grand opening celebration on Friday

The Lewis-Clark State College Center for Arts & History office will have a grand opening on Friday, July 31, to celebrate its new temporary location at 721 7th Ave. in Lewiston.

The new location, which is on the corner of 7th Avenue and 8th Street, became necessary after a fire damaged the CAH building in early March. Repair work has begun on the building with the removal of asbestos and LCSC officials are working with insurance adjusters to determine the exact costs of repairing the building.

In the meantime, the CAH office moved to the LCSC campus until it could find a space to hold exhibits.

Along with Friday's grand opening, two exhibits will be featured. Val Carter's exhibit, entitled "Gone Fishin' ,"" and Dave Herbold's exhibit, called "Mercy", will be on display through Sept. 12 at the new location.

The opening reception for both artists, as well as the grand opening celebration, will be held at 5-8 p.m. on Friday.

The CAH office phone number is still the same and more information on the exhibits or grand opening can be obtained by calling (208) 792-2243.
