IT update over the holidays - check your web forms please

The LCSC IT Department underwent some maintenance and other projects over the Christmas break to help prepare the college for a wider Internet bandwith in the coming months.

One of the maintenance issues was eliminating the pine e-mail address account. LCSC converted all e-mail accounts to walnut during the fall. It was discovered this week that all forms on the web were connected to pine and were changed over to walnut on Wednesday. However, that meant that no forms that were filled out were delivered through e-mail from Dec. 27-Jan. 5.

The Web office asks that if you have a form on the web, please fill out a dummy form and make sure it is delivered to the right place (you may have to check your junk e-mail account if it is sent to a person). If you have had a form built in the last year, it may not work and you will need to contact the Web office at bhsahlberg@lcsc.edu and the Web office will take care of it ASAP.

Also, spam filters used by some e-mail companies added lcsc.edu to their lists. IT is currently working on trying to get lcsc.edu e-mails off the list and have been successful other than to hotmail-based accounts.

If you do experience issues sending to a non-hotmail account please forward that email to the Helpdesk and IT will get it resolved. IT is working with Microsoft Hosting Email Services to resolve the issue with Hotmail accounts.
