Eye Heart Paint opening is Feb. 5
LCSC Center for Arts & History presents Eye Heart Paint, a painting invitational (Lewiston). Eleven regional Northwest painters, with paintings that speak to the heart and mind, have been invited to participate in this exhibition. They have selected works that represent what they love about the paint medium. The Opening for Eye Heart Paint will be Friday, February 5 from 4-7 pm at the LCSC Center for Arts & History, 721 Seventh Avenue, Lewiston. Wine and beer will be available from La Boheme.
Eleven painters were invited to participate in this all PAINT exhibition. Oils, water colors, acrylic, mixed mediums and encaustic work are represented by the artists that have exhibited regionally, nationally and internationally. Painters for the exhibition include: Val Carter, Courtney Brockett, Jill Hosmer, Kathleen Bodley, Leonard Heid, Kasey Keeler, Nara Woodland, Ellen Vieth, Christine Havens, Ray Esparsen Aaron Johnson. Artists will be on hand for the Opening.
A quote from the LCSC Center for Arts & History programming coordinator, Ellen Vieth:
"My wish is to celebrate the love of painting- through the lens of eleven different painters. Painting exhibitions seem a rarity these days. As a painter I know how moving and memorable it can be to engage in a dialogue with other painters. Such an exhibition also gives us the opportunity to explain and show how artists engage in the process of creative exploration. Whether it is through a visceral response to the medium, a philosophical exploration, or a passionate emotive understanding of space and time… painting provides a discourse for examination on many levels."
The exhibition is brought to the community through sponsorship from Dr. Greg and Susan Buratto and a grant from US Bancorp. The gallery is open Wednesday through Saturday from 11:00am to 4:00pm Admission is FREE, but donations are graciously accepted.
