LCSC students build cardboard houses
Engineering students at Lewis-Clark State College will display their cardboard box houses as part of a fundraiser for Family Promise in the Lewiston-Clarkston Valley.
Family Promise is a non-profit organization that works to help homeless families in the Valley. The fundraiser shows how a typical homeless family may live in the Valley, using cardboard boxes as a house.
The LCSC students have used their skills in building their cardboard box houses, which will be on display on the LCSC campus in the grassy area east of the Student Union Building and South of the Fine Arts Building on Thursday and Friday, Sept. 16-17. The display will include signs explaining the cardboard boxes and the fundraiser.
The LCSC students in assistant professor Jenni Light’s engineering class have participated in this project for three years.
