Region II ISBDC sets October workshops

The Region II Idaho Small Business Development Center at Lewis-Clark State College is offering three workshops during October, including one on "How to Start a Business Boot Camp" and two others on QuickBooks.

The Business Boot Camp is scheduled for Oct. 7 at the Moscow City Hall at 6-9 p.m. The instructor is Chris St. Germaine and the fee is $10. The workshop will discuss business feasibility, self-employment assessment, initial market research, start-up expenses, financial feasibility, choosing a business structure, obtaining financing, determining regulations, setting prices, creating marketing materials, and developing a business plan.

The two-day QuickBooks workshop will be held on Oct. 22 and 29 at 1-4 p.m. in Sam Glenn Complex Room 122 on the LCSC campus. The instructor is Su Brown and the series fee is $50.

The Oct 22 workshop is called QuickBooks-Payroll I and the Oct. 29 workshop is called QuickBooks-Payroll II. The two classes will discuss how to use the payroll function in QuickBooks. Topics include setting up employees correctly, adding payroll items, taxes, and deductions. It will also show how to use time tracking, and generate payroll checks and reports. Idaho and Washington payroll requirements will be discussed.
