Region II ISBDC sets September workshops
The Region II Idaho Small Business Development Center at Lewis-Clark State College is offering two workshops during September, including a four-session series on e-Commerce and a two-part series on "Business Planning for Right Brained People."
The e-Commerce series starts on Sept. 7 and will be held on four straight Wednesdays at 7-9 p.m. in room 112 of the LCSC Sam Glenn Complex. The registration fee is $100, which covers the four sessions.
In the first e-Commerce session, the basics of e-Commerce will be discussed, including the advantages and disadvantages of marketing on the web, as well as e-Commerce applications for online marketing, advertising, home shopping, and auctions. The second session on Sept. 14 will explore social media, including LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter. The session will cover the pros and cons of Social Media and explore different social media sites.
The third session on Sept. 21 will explore Intuit, a user-friendly program that helps create and design web pages. This session will help plan a web site, finding a web host, and creating a domain name. The final session on Sept. 28 will put the finishing touches on a web site and show how to update, maintain and monitor the site. Other software will be discussed.
The Business Planning for Right Brained People will be held on consecutive Thursdays, Sept. 15 and 22, at 7-9 p.m., in room 224 of the Sam Glenn Complex. The first session discusses how to turn your passion into profit. The session will cover how to craft a business plan, connect with the perfect customer, and develop a financial plan with flair. The second session covers how to get a business up and running in six weeks or less. It will cover putting an action plan in place complete with goals, strategies and steps.
The two-sessions workshop has a fee of $50.
Workshops coming up in October and November include QuickBooks, Customer Service, Management and Organization of a Business, Marketing Basics, Retail Space Use and Design, and Building a Business Plan.
