Bookworks goes on display Friday at CAH
"Bookworks", an exhibition in invitational book art and letterpress by various book artists in the Pacific Northwest, will be on display at the Lewis-Clark State College Center for Arts & History starting this Friday, Oct. 14, and running through Dec. 23.
An opening will be held Friday at 6-8 p.m. at the Center.
The exhibit includes works from Mare Blocker, Chandler O'Leary , Shuy-Ju Wang, Kristin Carlson, Diane Jacobs, Margaret Jamison, Jenny Craig, Elizabeth Sloan, Jessica Spring , David Schulz, Jim Croft, Squire Broel, Charly Bloomquist, Lara Mehling, Catherine Alice Michaelis, Roberta Lavadour, Elsi Vassdal-Lewis, and Susan Lowdermilk.
Blocker said the exhibit represents some of the finest book artists in the region.
"They were chosen for their well conceived and insightful visions, supported by quality craftsmanship," Blocker said. "Most of the works address landscape in some form, re?ecting the strong presence of environment in the northwest psyche."
The "Bookworks" exhibition is made possible by sponsorships from ASLCSC, LCSC Humanities Division, the Graphic Design/Print Technology program, …and BOOKS too!, and through grants from US Bancorp, Idaho Commission on the Arts and National Endowment for the Arts. The gallery is open Tuesday through Saturday 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Admission is free, but donations are graciously accepted.
