LCSC`s Visiting Writers Series to feature author Ray on Nov. 11
The Lewis-Clark State College Visiting Writers Series will present a reading by Spokane author Shann Ray on Friday, Nov.11. The event will begin at 7 p.m. and will be held at Cafe Sage, located at 1303 Main St. in Lewiston.
The reading is free and open to the public, and books will be available for sale and signing.
Ray is the author of "American Masculine" and the winner of the Bakeless Prize for emerging writers. He is also the author of "Forgiveness and Power in the age of Atrocity." He is the winner of the Subterrain Poetry Prize, the Crab Creek Review Fiction Award and the Ruminate Short Story Prize. His work has appeared in some of the nation`s leading literary venues including McSweeney`s, Narrative, Story Quarterly, and Poetry International. He has served with the National Endowment for the Humanities and as a research psychologist for the Centers for Disease Control.
Ray grew up in Montana, spent part of his childhood on the Northern Cheyenne Reservation, and now lives with his family in Washington where he teaches leadership and forgiveness studies at Gonzaga University.
