Chaney performance, writing workshop to be held on Saturday
Poet and philanthropist Jordan Chaney will perform "A Night of Spoken Word" on Saturday, Nov. 12, at 7 p.m. at the Lewis-Clark State College Silverthorne Theatre. Also on Saturday, Cheney will present a special writing workshop at the LCSC Center for Arts & History from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Cheney`s performance, presented by LCSC Continuing Education & Community Events as part of the Silverthorne Artist`s Series, is free and open to the public.
Chaney is the author of the book, "Double Barreled Bible – a poet`s quest for the almighty," and also has released a CD titled, "Mighty Peasant." Both works will be for sale at the event.
Chaney is a founding member of the Richland Arts Foundation, Rivers of Ink Annual Literary Event, and is president of Billowing Words Art Society and Philanthropy.
The workshop, titled "Speaking from the Pen," is free for LCSC students and $10 for non-students. Participants of the workshop will have the opportunity of being included in Chaney`s evening performance, reading their original works. Preregistration for the workshop is recommended.
