Regional Jjunior and Senior High School Exhibition opens at Center For Arts & History

LEWISTON, Idaho - The LCSC Center for Arts & History (CAH) is presenting the 2012 Regional High School Exhibition, with the artwork of area junior high and high school students. The exhibition will open to the public on Friday, with an opening reception from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. in the galleries. The exhibition runs May 11 through May 25.

Schools participating include Asotin High School, Clarkston High School, Jenifer Junior High, Lewiston High School and the Northwest Children's Home.

"The Center for Arts and History is not only a proponent of critical and creative thinking, but an outlet for artistic potential," said Angie Weiland, CAH Development Coordinator. "These young emerging artists are engaged in understanding not only the physical aspects of painting, drawing, and metal sculpture, but also using their minds to engage in both discussion and the art making process. Learning to think differently and problem solve through change. It is an important and thoughtful exploration."

The exhibition is brought to the LCSC Center for Arts & History through sponsorships from ASLCSC and Edwin Litteneker, Attorney at Law, and through grants from US Bancorp, Idaho Commission on the Art, and National Endowment for the Arts. The gallery is open Tuesday through Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Admission is free, but donations are graciously accepted.
