LCSC Jazz Band, Sax Quartet schedule performances

The Lewis-Clark State College Jazz Band is performing on Monday, November 19 at 7:30 p.m. at the Lewiston High School Auditorium. The band will perform contemporary and traditional big band music by Count Basie, Thelonius Monk, Wes Montgomery, Gordon Goodwin, and Terry Gibbs. Featured vocalist Kathleen Gemberling will perform music by Bobby Darin, Michael Buble, and Rodgers and Hart. The concert is free and open to the public.

The LCSC Jazz Band is directed by Bill Perconti, and includes musicians from the LCSC student body and the community. The band is a nine-time winner at the Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival and performs throughout the region. On November 13, the band will perform a concert at 7 p.m. at Culdesac High School. That concert is also free and open to the public.

The Lewis-Clark State College Saxophone Quartet will present a recital on Monday, Dec. 3 at 7:30 p.m. at the Silverthorne Theatre on the LCSC campus. The program will include traditional and modern music by Glazounov, Greg Simon, Colin MacDonald, as well as light music by Sousa and the Beatles. The quartet is led by LCSC Professor of Music and recording artist Bill Perconti, and includes Duke Sullivan, Rachel Erin Murphy, and Ryan King. Featured soloists from the quartet will also perform. The Dec. 3 recital is free and open to the public.
