Comedian coming to LCSC's Silverthorne Theater
Comedian Adam Mamawala will be performing on Wednesday, December 5 at 8:00 pm in the Silverthorne Theater on the Lewis-Clark State College campus. The event is free and the public is welcome. It is sponsored by the Warrior Entertainment Board.
25-year-old Mamawala is a stand-up comedian from Hoboken, New Jersey. Over the last couple of years he has competed in a number of statewide competitions to find the funniest college comedian. He was the winner of the New Jersey Comedy festival in 2007. He was also a semifinalist in the 2011 Boston Comedy Festival.
In 2012, he was named to Campus Activities Magazine's Dean's List as the second highest rated stand-up comedian. He has been described as "a comedian whose act delivers more than his price and a "must have on campus, a seasoned performer on stage - comfortable, confident and talented", and "funny, personable, and quick on his feet, an ideal college performer."
Having performed at over 70 colleges in more than 20 states, Mamawala's career took off on YouTube. After the first week of the creation of his YouTube channel, it was the fifth most subscribed channel, receiving hundreds of comments and five-star ratings on a daily basis. More recently he was named one of the website Funny or Die's "30 Under 30 Comedians to Watch."
