Kathryn Albertson Foundation Scholarship
The J.A. and Kathryn Albertson Foundation
established this scholarship to enhance student access to higher
education as well as to promote completion of degree programs.
Scholarships will be available in each of the following categories.
| 1. |
1st Generation:
High School seniors who need financial assistance to attend a
two or four-year institution and are the first in their family
to attend college. Preference will be given to students
whose initial enrollment at LCSC is Fall Semester 2010. |
| 2. |
Completion:
Need-based scholarship available to full or part-time students
who are re-entering college and are in pursuit of a degree.
Preference will be given to students who have been out of
school for at least one semester and Fall Semester 2010 is the
first semester back at LCSC. |
| 3. |
Transfer:
Core-certified students from any community college or two-year
college who are in pursuit of a bachelor's degree at a
four-year institution. Preference will be given to
students who enroll at LCSC for Fall Semester 2010 or in a
subsequent semester. |
| 4. |
Non-traditional:
Full or part-time student who has never attended college and
is one year or more out of high school. Preference will
be given to students whose initial enrollment at LCSC is Fall
Semester 2010. |
| 5. |
Know-How 2 Go:
A merit based scholarship for high school seniors based on
overall high student performance, including the successful
completion of four math and four science courses in high
school. Preference will be given to students whose
initial enrollment at LCSC is Fall Semester 2010. |
The recipients must be Idaho residents; full-time or
part-time degree seeking; demonstrate financial need as determined by
the Office of Financial Aid, if applicable; have a grade point average
of 2.0 or higher; and meet other criteria as established in the above
categories.
Recipients will be required to sign an agreement
with the following terms:

The scholarship may be renewed for up to five years,
depending upon the award category, of consecutive attendance
towards a Bachelor's degree and up to two years, depending
upon the award category, of consecutive attendance towards an
Associate's degree and stated in individual contracts. |
| 2. |
The recipient will maintain a 3.0 or higher semester
college grade point average in order to continue receiving the
scholarship. |
| 3. |
The recipient will successfully complete the number of
credits established in the agreement (a minimum of six (6)
credits for part-time awards and a minimum of twelve (12)
credits for full-time awards). |
| 4. |
The recipient will attend a special
orientation/recognition event at the beginning of the initial
enrollment term. |
| 5. |
The recipient will meet with a supplemental academic
advisor at mid-term and just prior to finals week each
semester. |
| 6. |
The recipient will not be eligible to receive a
Presidential or Provost Scholarship. |

than November 1, 2010. Priority consideration will be
given to students who apply on or before March 1, 2010.
