The Alpha Delta Kappa Annual
Scholarship
Foundation Scholarship
This scholarship was established to assist
students pursuing a degree in education. Alpha Delta Kappa is an
international honorary organization for women educators.
Student must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point
average. Student must be enrolled in at least 12 credit hours
per semester, be an education senior, and be accepted into the
Teacher Education Program. A General
Application is required and must be submitted by March 1.

Elta Moorman Arnold Endowed Scholarship
Foundation Scholarship
The scholarship has been established in memory of Elta Moorman
Arnold. Mrs. Arnold
was active in education for 50 years, 10 of those years as
superintendent of Schools. She presided over 84 country schools,
visiting them all by horse. Recipient of this scholarship must
be majoring in education and preference shall be given to
students from Idaho County.

Orval Austin
Endowed Scholarship
Foundation Scholarship
The Orval Austin Endowed
Scholarship was established by Char Gustafson in memory of Mr.
Orval Austin. Char was a friend of Mr. Austin and knew of his
wish to help students through college. Two scholarships will be
available, one to an Education major, and one going to a Biology
major that is planning to attend veterinarian school. The
recipients must be full-time or part-time degree seeking
students that demonstrate financial need as determined by the
Office of Financial Aid.
A General

Barton Family Memorial Scholarship
Foundation Scholarship
This scholarship was established to help students who
plan to enroll full-time at Lewis-Clark State College. Students must have
completed 26 credits at LCSC with a cumulative GPA of 3.0, be accepted into
the Education Division and an Idaho resident. Preference will be given to
students who demonstrate financial need as determined by the Financial Aid
Office. There is one annual award available
for $1000. A General Application is required and must be submitted by March
1.

Harry
Campbell Estate Endowed Scholarship for Education
Foundation Scholarship
The estate of Harry Campbell has
established this scholarship to offset the educationally related
expenses of a Lewis-Clark State College student. To be eligible the
student must have a 3.0 cumulative GPA, register for 12 or more credits,
and be accepted to the Education Division. A General
Application is required and must be submitted by March 1.

Margaret
Chavez Endowed Scholarship
Foundation Scholarship
Dr. Margaret Chavez, Associate
Professor of Education, was dedicated to her students in every
course she taught, specifically helping aspiring teachers to
develop a passion for teaching literacy, addressing cultural
diversity, and using best practices strategies in their
teaching. Margaret was recognized as a leader nationally in
multicultural education, and has been credited with a major role
in the establishment of LCSC’s award winning Pathways for
Certification and Endorsement Program (PACE), targeting
non-traditional students seeking teacher certification. To
honor her contributions to LCSC Teacher Education Division, two
scholarships have been established. One scholarship to be
awarded to an elementary education major that has been accepted
into the Education Division, and another scholarship awarded to
an education major seeking a reading minor or English as a
Second Language minor or with a focus on diversity issues in the
realm of education and has been admitted to the education
program. To be eligible, the recipient must demonstrate
financial need as determined by the Office of Financial Aid.
The student must have at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA, and be
enrolled in at least 12 credits per semester.
A General

The Marvin DeLuga Memorial Scholarship

Scholarship
The Marvin DeLuga Memorial Scholarship was created
based on the specific guidelines described in the will of Dr. DeLuga, a
former professor in the Education Division at LCSC. To be eligible a
student must be a full-time (12+ credits) student and maintain a cumulative
GPA of 2.5. The applicant must be accepted into either the elementary or
secondary education program. Preference will be given to students who
demonstrate financial need as determined by the Financial Aid Office. A General Application is required and must be submitted by March
1.

The Lawrence and Margaret Duclos Endowed
Scholarship
Foundation
Scholarship
This scholarship was established in memory of Lawrence and Margaret
Duclos. Mr. and Mrs.
Duclos taught for several years in the Weiser School District.
Recipient of this scholarship must have a 3.0 cumulative
g.p.a., and be enrolled in 12 or more credits.
Student must also state (use separate paper) their intent to
apply for or be admitted to the Education Division in a teacher
program. Preference will
be given to students from Weiser, Idaho or another small Idaho school.
Students may reapply for this scholarship. A General Application is
required and must be submitted by March 1.

The Michael and Phillip Duley Memorial Endowed Scholarship

Scholarship
This scholarship was created for the purpose of
offsetting the educationally-related expenses of an upper division
Lewis-Clark State College education major, preparing for a career in
teaching. To be eligible for this award applicants must be classified
as a full-time student, carrying 12 or more credits each semester, have a
cumulative GPA of at least 3.0, be an upper division education major. The amount of the award is
variable. A General Application is required and must be submitted by
March 1.

Kenneth R. and Mildred M. Hensley Scholarship
Foundation Scholarship
This scholarship was created for the purpose of
offsetting the educationally-related expenses of a Lewis-Clark State College
student. To be eligible, applicants must be majoring in education or
preparing for a career in teaching with a major in history or physical
education, be classified as a full time student carrying 12 or more credits
per semester and must have a cumulative GPA that meets current Division of
Education standards for admission to student teaching and in no way be less
than 2.5. Recipients shall
receive $150 fall semester renewable spring semester provided he/she is
making adequate progress. A General Application is required and must
be submitted by March 1.

Herbert Howe Perpetual Scholarship
Foundation Scholarship
The intent of this scholarship is to support aspiring
teachers attending LCSC. To be eligible for this award, applicants must have
a GPA of 3.30, be admitted to the Teacher Education Program, be enrolled for
12 credits and have completed at least 12 upper division education credits.
There are at least two annual awards of up to $1500.

Gene and Virginia Leach Memorial Scholarship
Foundation Scholarship
This scholarship was
created to help offset the education-related expenses of
Lewis-Clark State College students involved in education or
athletics. Applicants must be classified as a full-time student,
carrying 12 or more credits per semester, must have a minimum
cumulative GPA of 3.0 and demonstrate financial need, as
determined by the Financial Aid Office. Preference will be given
to a female student who is enrolled in education, and who is
entering their student teaching program or preference will be
given to students who are kinesiology teaching majors. The
scholarship shall alternate between the education program and
athletes. In the years in which kinesiology teaching majors are
chosen for the scholarship, preference shall be given to those
who are athletes playing on one of men’s or women’s LCSC’s
sports teams. A General Application is required and must be
submitted by March 1.

Francis Ernest Millay/Ruth Stark Millay Memorial Scholarship
Foundation Scholarship
The intent of this scholarship is to assist outstanding
students who have declared elementary education as a major at Lewis-Clark
State College. Applicants must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 and enroll for
12 or more credits. Applicants must be accepted into the education division
and be an Idaho resident. Students must
demonstrate financial need as determined by the Financial Aid Office. The annual awards are variable. A

Military Order of the Purple Heart
Foundation Scholarship
This scholarship is available on a competitive basis to
students committed to pursuing a career in special education. To be eligible
for this award, applicants must have a GPA of 3.25, be accepted to the
Teacher Education Program and be enrolled for 12 credits. There are
two to four annual awards of up to $1500. Students must demonstrate
financial need as determined by the Financial Aid Office. A General Application is required
and must be submitted by March 1.

The Bob Olson
Endowed Scholarship for Mullen High School/Shoshone County Students
Foundation Scholarship
This scholarship was created for the purposes
of offsetting the educationally-related expenses of a Lewis-Clark
State College student preferably from Mullan High School or Shoshone
County, Idaho. Preference will also be given to students majoring
in secondary education, have a 3.0 cumulative GPA, and be a
degree-seeking, full-time (12 credit) student. A General Application
is required and must be submitted by March 1.

The Aletha Pabst Memorial Endowed Scholarship
Foundation Scholarship
This scholarship was established by the friends of
Aletha Pabst for the purpose of offsetting the educationally-related
expenses of Lewis-Clark State College students. To be eligible,
applicants must be majoring in education, have a cumulative GPA of 2.75, and
preference will be given to those with financial need, as determined by the
Financial Aid Office. The amount of the award is variable. A General

The Maxine Arnold Pell Endowed Scholarship
Foundation Scholarship
This scholarship was established in memory of Maxine Arnold Pell.
Maxine taught in a number of country schools in Idaho County.
She tutored World War II veterans so they could fulfill the
entrance requirements for college. Eligible recipients must be
majoring in education, and preference shall be given to students from
Idaho County. A

RENCI Scholarship
Foundation Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to a senior majoring in
Education who is going into their teaching internship. The recipient must be
classified as a full-time student, carrying 12 or more credits per semester,
have a cumulative GPA of at least a 3.0, be a graduate of a high school in
the North Central Idaho region (Moscow to Riggins, border to border).
Preference will be given to a student demonstrating financial need as
determined by the Office of Financial Aid. The amount of the award is
variable. A General Application is required and must be submitted by March
1.

Riddle Family Scholarship
This scholarship has been set up to benefit
Native American students pursuing an undergraduate education
degree at Lewis-Clark State College.
To be eligible applicants must meet the following
criteria: Enroll as a full-time (12 credits) student at LCSC, be
an enrolled tribal member or be a first or second degree
descendent of a federal or state recognized tribe, have acquired
75-90 credits and be within one semester of applying to the LCSC
Teacher Education Program, have at least a 2.8 cumulative gpa,
provide responses to essay question per application, not be in
default on federal student loans or grant repayment, and
complete the Free Application For Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
An application is required and is due on or before March
1.

Showalter-Carlisle Scholarship
Foundation Scholarship
The Showalter-Carlisle Scholarship
is intended to substantially offset the educationally-related
expenses of a Lewis-Clark State College student. The recipient
shall be an Education major intending to pursue a career as a
teacher. The recipient must be classified as a full-time
student, carrying 12 or more credits per semester, have a
cumulative grade point average consistent with the minimum
required for admission and for progress toward a degree in
Education. Preference shall be given to students that
demonstrate financial need, as determined by the Office of
Financial Aid. A
General Application is required and must be submitted by March
1.

Dr. Milton L. Snyder and Dr. Dolores J. Gibbons Endowed Scholarship
Foundation Scholarship
To be eligible for this award, applicants must be
classified as a full-time student, carrying 12 or more credits each
semester. Preference shall be given to students who are graduates of
Lewiston High School. If in any year, there are not
qualified students from either of these schools, the scholarship may be
offered to students meeting the same criteria from other north Idaho public
high schools. Preference shall be given to students who have had substantial
involvement with extracurricular activities and community service. Extra
consideration shall be given to those who have been gainfully employed
during their high school years. GPA shall not be a qualifying factor, but it
must be consistent with the GPA required for admission and progress toward
their major. Qualified recipients shall be planning to major in
education with the goal of pursuing careers as teachers or educational
administrators, or be majoring in a professional technical degree. Students
must demonstrate
financial need, as determined by the Financial Aid Office. A General Application is required and must be
