Gale Series
Literature Resource Center -- Find up-to-date biographical information, overviews, full-text literary criticism and reviews on more than 130,000 writers in all disciplines, from all time periods and from around the world.
Magill's Series
Critical Survey of Short Fiction - A multi-volume series commonly referred to as Magill's, in the Library's Reference Collection, for library use only. Each signed author entry in the Magill Critical Surveys includes the birth and death dates of the writer, a section on the writer's achievements, a brief biographical essay, an analysis of the writer's work, a list of the writer's principal literary works, and a selected annotated bibliography of critical works. The last volume of each set usually contains essays on the principal periods, schools, or forms of literature within the genre. Each volume is arranged alphabetically by the last name of the writer. There is a combined author-title index at the end of the last volume of each set. [Ref PN3373 .C7 1981]

MLA International Bibliography - A journal index that covers literature, language, linguistics and folklore. Provides citations to journal articles, single-author monographs, book chapters from multi-author works, dissertation abstracts, and book series. Produced by the Modern Language Association of America.
ProQuest Central - Includes articles from over 11,000 magazines and journals. Many, but not all, provide the full-text of articles. Over 160 subjects areas are covered extensively in this product including business and economics, health and medical, news and world affairs, technology, and social sciences.
Research Library - A smaller collection of periodicals than ProQuest Central. Covers a broad range of subjects including arts, business, children, education, general interest, health, humanities, international, law, military, multicultural, psychology, sciences, social sciences, and women's interests.

Credo Reference - Search a collection of up to 100 online dictionaries and subject encyclopedias. Or click on "Find a Book," and search within only one title, such as Cambridge Guide to Theatre or Bloomsbury Guide to Art.
Virtual Reference Library - Search a collection on online reference books from Gale, a respected publisher of subject-focused encyclopedias and dictionaries.

FSI Language Courses - Language training courses provided by the Foreign Service Institute (U.S. government). They provide textbooks and some digitized audio files.
Latin American Literature - Sites organized by country, provided by the Lozano Long Institute of Latin American Studies (LLILAS) at the University of Texas at Austin.
Literature in Spanish - Links to Websites on individual authors. Provided by Voice of the Shuttle, a website for Humanities Research, English Department at the University of California, Santa Barbara.
MLA Language Map - Uses data from the 2000 United States census to display the locations and numbers of speakers of thirty languages and three groups of less commonly spoken languages in the United States.
Virtual Keyboard - Provides a space to type in French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Swedish, or Polish, using the special characters (diacritical marks) of each language. You can copy the text into other programs without having to download a font. Provided by Imagiforce Corporation.
International Children's Digital Library : A Library for the World's Children - A digital library of outstanding children's books from around the world, including books in Spanish. Developed by the University of Maryland and the Internet Archive, with funding from the Institute of Museum and Library Services.

Online Writing Lab - A service of the Humanities Division at LCSC, this center provides one-on-one advice from other students on improving your papers before turning them in.
Assignment Calculator - Based on the start date and due date for your assignment, this calculator will map out benchmarks for completing tasks leading up to the final paper. It also provides links to other pages with tips on understanding your assignment, focusing your topic, etc. It was developed by the library at the University of Minnesota, so a few of its linked resources are not available to you. But we have many similar resources available to you on this campus.
