Idaho Statistics Update
The Idaho Statistics Update project is made possible by a 1997/98
Seed Grant from the University of Idaho Research Office. Some of the
original chapters included here were published as volume one of the
Idaho Statistical Abstract, 4th edition, by University of Idaho, Center
for Business Development and Research. Efforts were made to use the
sources listed in the original chapters to update the data when available.
The chapters intended for volume 2 of Idaho Statistical Abstract, 4th
edition, are new data collected from various sources by Lily Wai, the
Compiler-in-Chief, Head of Government Documents, University of Idaho
Library, Moscow, Idaho.

Census 2000
The first Census 2000 data are the apportionment population counts, which are
required by law to be delivered to the President on or before December 31, 2000.
The apportionment counts determine the number of representatives from each
state in the House of Representatives.

The apportionment counts are computed using the total resident population and
the overseas population of the fifty states. The overseas population consists of
U.S. military and federal civilian employees stationed outside the United States

state.
