LC's Natural Science Composite Major

In order to receive a baccalaureate degree in Natural Science, you must complete:

  • 43 required credits in natural science and mathematics
  • 15 elective credits in natural science and mathematics
  • the General Education Core
  • an exit interview with the division chair
  • a standardized exit exam
  • a senior research project and oral defense

    PHYS 112 General Physics II *4 Credits

    MATH 144 Trigonometry2 Credits
    BIOL 201 Introduction to the Life Sciences4 Credits
    BIOL 202 General Zoology **4 Credits
    CS 2XX Computer Programming Language ***3 Credits
    XXXX 499 Research Project and Seminar3 Credits

    Total Required Courses43 Credits

    * The General Physics sequence PHYS 211 Engineering Physics I and PHYS 212 Engineering Physics II may be substituted for the General Physics sequence.

    ** BIOL 203 General Botany may be substituted for General Zoology.

    *** The computer science course may be chosen from CS 206 BASIC, CS 210 FORTRAN, or CS 241 Foundations of Program Development I ( currently taught in C/C++).
