LC's Natural Science Teaching Major
General Education Requirements

The general education core requires 48 credits of lower and upper division work. Two courses, MATH 143, Calculus I, and CHEM 111, Principles of Chemistry I, are duplicated in the major requirements. Because of certification and accreditation requirements, the selections available in the core for secondary education majors is somewhat less varied than those for other majors. In addition, all science majors are required to take at least one year of a foreign or heritage language, further reducing the options.
