Mission and Goals

Program Mission/Goals

The primary mission of the ASR Program at LCSC is to provide a high quality education in medical radiography in order to produce properly registered and competent practitioners in the imaging field.

Objectives

  • Graduates of this program who take and pass the ARRT radiography examination will have the title “Registered

  • Technologist R.T. ( R ), (ARRT).

  • Graduates of this program will be technically proficient, being able to consistently produce radiographs of high diagnostic quality on any given part of the human body. This includes proper positioning techniques and the proper setting of all exposure factors.

  • Graduates of this program will consistently employ principles of radiation protection and general safety in order to prevent hazards to patients and personnel.

  • Graduates of this program may be successfully employed in an entry-level position, displaying the ability to adapt to new departments, equipment, and clinical situations.

  • Graduates of this program will consistently manifest a professional attitude and honor the ASRT Code of Ethics, thus positively influencing the public image of the profession.
