How many students apply to the ASR Program each year?
It varies.  

How many applicants are accepted each year?
Between 12-15 qualified applicants are accepted each fall semester. 

What is the average GPA of accepted applicants?
The range varies from class to class. The minimum required cumulative GPA is 2.5, with anything from 3.0 to above being competitive.

Should I study for the HOBET Admission examination?
No. This examination is designed to evaluate your current reading, math, and interpersonal skills. Studying may make you feel more confident about the examination, but it is not essential. 

When do I apply to the ASR Program?
You may apply any time after November 15th of each year. Applications are due to Dianne Blum in MLH 306 no later than 5:00PM February 14 each year for prospective admission into the fall semester of that year respectively. There is an application fee due to Diane Blum at the time of application. 

How many clinical hours are required in the ASR Program?
Currently, approximately 1500 clinical hours are required to complete the LCSC ASR Program. This number of hours is subject to change based upon accreditation standards, clinical site issues, and other related factors. 

Does the program prepare the student to take the national registry examination?
Yes. The LCSC ASR Program is set up to correlate with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) radiography examination requirements and standards. 

Does LCSC offer training/certification/degrees in imaging modalities?
Not at this time. Plans are underway to offer advanced modality certificates and/or Baccalaureate degree option in various clinical modalities. 

Does LCSC offer a bachelors degree in radiologic science?
A Bachelor of Science/Arts in Management with a Radiography Emphasis is planned to begin in Fall 2004. 

What is the ARRT pre-examination eligibility check all about?
The ARRT offers a method by which an individual interested in the imaging sciences with a criminal history is eligible to take an ARRT examination prior to enrollment in an imaging science school or program. Contact the ARRT at (651)687-0048 to find out more about this process. 

Is the LCSC ASR Program accredited?
We are a regionally accredited college via the Northwest Association of Schools and of Colleges and Universities. The LCSC ASR Program is currently preparing for the accreditation process of the Joint Review Committee on Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) based in Chicago, Illinois. 

Does LCSC ASR Program faculty offer continuing education classes?
Continuing education classes may be offered from time to time based upon professional demand, faculty availability, and appropriate funding.
