The Welding Technology
Program is designed to provide training in a
sequential pattern for various welding processes. Students progress
at their own pace. Students receive practical and theoretical
training in the weld ability and identification of metals metals and
alloys, use of equipment, manual and automatic cutting, blueprint reading,
and shop mathematics, and other related subjects. Students spend a
large portion of their seven and on half hour day in the welding lab
practicing each task in accordance with AWS standards.
Entrance requirements for AAS degree and
Certificate seeking students in the Welding program include:
Compass score of 46 or higher in Math
(Algebra), or qualify for MathPT 137.
Enrollment priority will be determined by the
date and time in which the student is advised by faculty in
