LCSC Interview Preference
  • Leadership Institute graduates receive an interview preference for campus positions in which they apply and meet the minimum required qualifications.  Leadership Institute graduates are guaranteed at minimum a phone screening interview with the position’s search committee.  This only applies to Leadership Institute participants who have completed the program prior to applying for a position.

who can participate?
  • All LCSC employees, those with longevity, new to LCSC, student employees, and irregular help
  • The employee needs to be recommended and endorsed by their supervisor
What to expect?
  • Most courses will be taught by teams, primarily LCSC employees such as our administrators, faculty, CSO, and PSO employees.  There will also be a few off campus instructors who are known for their charisma and expertise in the course subject and they will help you gain an outside perspective.  The course facilitators are experts in their areas and will help to facilitate these explorative and innovative conversations. The courses are light on lecture and heavy on discussion.
Program Requirements:
  • Attend orientation on Friday, Sept 30 from 8:00 a.m. - 10:30 a.m..
  • Participate in 11 additional courses (27.5 hours), approximately one each month. Courses are on a Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.; courses start with a discussion regarding leadership topics and the actual course starts at 8:30 a.m.
  • Willingness to share ideas and maintain confidentiality during class
  • Participate in a Facebook discussion group
  • Receive support and a nomination from your supervisor to participate

Application Instructions:

  • Review the Leadership Institute Packet
  • Complete the application below by the deadline
  • Applicants will be notified by Friday, September 16 if they are chosen for the year long cohort
  • Courses begin in September 2016 and end in August 2017
  • At the end of the Leadership Institute, you will be presented with a leadership kit (gift and leadership tools) at a celebration, a PDT certificate, recognition on the PDT website, a non-credit certificate through Workforce Training and your supervisor will receive a letter noting your inspiring accomplishment.
