How Do I Get Automobile Insurance for State
Vehicles?
Please complete the
automobile insurance
add/delete form to add or delete automobiles from LCSC's insurance
policy and e-mail it to
lkloewen@lcsc.edu.
This program will pay for loss or damage due
to collisions and upset, as well as a variety of causes such as fire, wind, hail,
theft, riot, vandalism, flood, and other comprehensive losses. Towing cost,
if required as a result of a covered loss, is also covered.
As an additional benefit, temporary rental
cars are automatically covered by this coverage for all State agencies that
already participate in the Automobile Physical Damage coverage.
Coverage is limited to the actual cash value
or cost to repair the damage, which ever is less. There is a $500.00
deductible per each occurrence.
- $500 deductible, which is the department's
expense
This coverage does not apply to damage which is due and confined to wear
and tear, mechanical failure or electrical breakdown, unless the damage is
caused by an otherwise covered peril.
NOTE: Liability coverage is provided for all
Lewis-Clark State College owned or leased vehicles licensed for road use.
In Case of an Auto Accident
- Offer assistance to anyone injured. Do not
move the injured unless absolutely necessary.
- Notify the police.
- Don't comment on the accident. Give
information as requested by police; and provide all other information and
comment to Risk Management and Insurance.
- Fill out the
State of Idaho Auto Accident
Report Guide. (One copy of this form must be kept in the vehicle at all
times). Complete as much as possible at the accident site.
- Do not accept responsibility for the
accident. Do be courteous.
- Forward the completed State of Idaho Auto
Accident Report Guide to Administrative Services immediately (form located
in the vehicle).
- Obtain three estimates of repair costs and
forward them to Administrative Services. Do not delay sending the State of
Idaho Auto Accident Report Guide - send the estimates separately.

coverage should be directed to Lucy Loewen, Administrative Services, at (208) 792-2240 or via
