Academic
Degree-Seeking
(Applicants with less than 14 transferable
semester credits after high school)
Regular Admission
- (1989 high school graduates to present) All of
the following must apply:
-
Proof of high
school graduation from an accredited high
school with at least a 2.0
cumulative GPA, and
-
An overall 2.0 cumulative GPA from all college
transcripts, and
-
A minimum ACT composite of 17 or
SAT combined critical reading and math score of
690 (if under the age of 21), and
-
Successful
completion of the established
Idaho College Admission Core Standards set by the Idaho
State Board of Education with a 2.0 GPA.
Conditional
Admission - (1989 high school graduates to
present)
Freshmen applicants who do not qualify for regular
admission may be considered for conditional
admission if at least one of the following
requirements apply:

If under age 21: an ACT
composite in the range of 14 through 16 or SAT
combined critical reading/verbal and math score
in the range of 560 through 680, or
-
Is missing at least one of
the required established
Idaho College
Admission Core Standards, or
-
If earned a General
Educvation Development (GED) certificate with a
standard score of at least 500/50, or
-
Graduated from a
non-accredited high school or was home schooled.

Applicants who are missing more than two (2)
semesters in any one category of the Idaho College
Admission Core Standards, or a total of five
(5) or more classes, have less than a 2.0 cumulative
GPA, or less than a 500/50 GED will be considered on an individual
basis.

All academic applicants
MUST have a minimum ACT composite of 14 or SAT
combined critical reading/verbal and math score
of 560 to be admitted if under the age of 21. Additional tests may be
requested to help make an admission decision.

Academic applicants may be denied admission
based on grade point average, high school core
grade point average based on the Idaho College
Admission Core Standards, test scores and GED
score.

An academic student with
conditional standing will upgrade to regular
admission upon completion of 14 credits of
college-level courses while maintaining a 2.0
GPA. Twelve of the 14 credits must be in
four different categories of the college's
general education requirements. Regular
admission status MUST be attained within three
registration periods or the student will be
moved to non-degree seeking status, limited to
seven credits, no financial aid; subject to Petition Committee appeal procedures.

Conditional students, their
staff advisor and their faculty advisor will
plan a prescriptive curriculum to ensure
academic success during their first year.
Frequent advising visits and reduced credit
loads (12-15) are suggested for conditional
students. Conditional students may be required
to complete specific placement or assessment
examinations prior to entry.
