Types of Study Abroad
ISA Studies Abroad:
ISA has summer, semester, and year abroad programs in England, Europe, Latin America, and
Morocco. Programs include:
language and culture; business; liberal arts; natural/environmental sciences; health sciences; and volunteer/
internships. ISA has staff to help you decide on a study abroad location, and full-time resident directors
who are committed to maximizing your study abroad experience—both academically and culturally.
AustraLearn
AustraLearn offers summer, semester and year abroad programs at more
than 30
different universities in Australia, New Zealand and Fiji. Internships and
full-degree programs are also available. AustraLearn has guaranteed,
pre-arranged housing, full in-country support and an emphasis on cultural
integration that will help make your studies abroad the "most amazing
experience of your life."
AsiaLearn
AsiaLearn offers semester, year and summer abroad programs in China,
Thailand, Japan, Hong
Kong, Malaysia, Singapore and South Korea – with more destinations to be
announced! English is the language of instruction at each university, and
classes are available in a wide range of majors. Great orientation,
in-country support, and exciting excursions assure an amazing abroad
experience.
EuroLearn:
EuroLearn offers semester, year and summer abroad programs in England,
Wales, Scotland, Ireland, Italy and the
Netherlands.
Exchanges:
LCSC has developed sister school relationships with specific
international colleges and universities. These schools allow LCSC students
to travel aborad at very reasonable prices. The National Student Exchange,
to be implemented in the next year, will allow exchange at colleges in the
U.S. and Canada.
Self-Directed Study Abroad:
The student decides on an international college or university, fills out
an application,
and attends and then transfers the credit back to LCSC. The student is not eligible for federal financial
aid.
Fulbright Scholars:
Seniors and faculty may apply for grants to do research or teach abroad
for one year.
Summer Study Tours:
Groups, such as the Spanish Club, periodically arrange credit for LCSC students to experience
international culture and earn college credit.
Scholarships:
LCSC offers two scholarships for studying Spanish abroad. The deadline
for applications for Spring/Summer of the
following year is the last business day in
September. The deadline for Fall
applications is the last business day in
March of the intended term abroad.

Abroad Coordinator.
Eligibility
The student must:
- be fully admitted to LCSC as a degree-seeking student and have
completed at least 30 credits.
- have a minimum 2.75 GPA (the semester programs require a higher GPA).
- attend the semester prior to the abroad semester at
LCSC.
Procedures for Students Interested in Studies Abroad
The student must:
- visit the Study Abroad Office (IPO 21) to discuss their
options.
- consult with their academic advisor and study abroad advisor at the
beginning of the semester prior to study abroad.
- complete the LCSC Study Abroad Form.
- complete the necessary applications and pay all
required fees to LCSC and the study abroad provider.
- secure financial aid (if needed) by submitting a FAFSA and other applicable
forms or materials to the Financial Aid Office.
