After you have completed the application process and been accepted to LCSC or IIE, we will send you an
Immigration Form I-20AB. The Form I-20 is a U.S. government form issued only by school officials. The
Form I-20 states that you can take a full course of study and have proved that you have enough money to
study in the U.S. without working illegally or suffering from poverty. You must have a Form I-20 to get
a student visa or transfer to another school. The Form I-20 will allow you to apply for a US student visa.
New Students – Be sure to read page 2 of your I-20 carefully. To get your visa, take your I-20,
passport, and bank statement indicating financial support to the nearest US Embassy or Consulate. The
Embassy will issue you a visa to attend LCSC. You must attend the school listed on your visa for at least
one semester before you will be eligible to transfer. When you enter the US, an immigration officer will
ask to see your passport, visa and I-20. He will stamp the I-20 and return it to you.
Transfer Students - If you are already attending a school in the US but plan to transfer to LCSC or
IIE, your present school will need to complete the
Request for Information on F-1 Transfer Student form.
Take this form to the international student advisor at your current school. Have him or her complete the
transfer form and fax or mail it to the International Programs Office at LCSC. Mail copies of your passport
ID page, visas, I-94, and previous I-20s. We will then issue your new I-20 and process your transfer.
