If you enter the US on a B-1 (visitor’s) visa, you can only attend classes part time, and for a short while.
If you wish to be a full-time student, you must enter the US on an F-1 visa. If you enter on a B-1 visa, you
cannot transfer to an F-1 visa while you are in the US.
