Take the ACT or SAT if you haven’t already done so
Double check that you are taking appropriate
classes in order to graduate from high school and to
get accepted into the college of your choice.
Visit at least three colleges/universities. Take
advantage of campus visitation programs.
Apply for admission early!
Start thinking about scholarship applications,
essay questions, and recommendation letters.
Senior Year –
Winter
Attend a financial aid night at your high school
Work on scholarship applications
Submit your Free Application for Federal Student
Aid (FAFSA) information after January 1.
Apply for a residence hall room if the
college/university requires it
Senior Year –
Spring
Acceptance letters will be mailed in the spring as
well as financial aid awards. Decide which school
you want to attend and decline offers from other
schools.
Sign up for a student advising and registration
session to secure a fall semester schedule.
If living in a residence hall, find out who your
roommate is and start making arrangements with
him/her.
