Understanding Your Transfer Equivalency
Report
The Office of
Admission/Registrar evaluates your transcript(s) to determine which
transfers to LCSC as General Education Core classes only. Transfer credit,
which count toward your intended major, will be evaluated by your faculty
advisor. You are responsible for meeting the individual requirements of your
selected curriculum. YOU MUST VISIT WITH YOUR ADVISOR AS SOON AS POSSIBLE
TO BEGIN THIS EVALUATION PROCESS. If you don’t, it may affect your
graduation eligibility. You may view your Transfer Equivalency Report on
WarriorWeb, warriorweb.lcsc.edu. Credit is not accepted for courses deemed
to be developmental in nature. Transfer credits are not included in the
computation of a student’s grade point average at Lewis-Clark State College.
Transcripts
are legal documents, and as such once they are received they become the
property of the college and cannot be copied, returned or forwarded.
Transfer
equivalency reports are subject to change.
- If your Transfer Equivalency Report includes a
"CORE-ID" equivalency, you are not responsible for completing any
lower-division (100- or 200- level)
general education core classes
at LCSC. You might, however, be required to complete one or more
lower-division prerequisite courses as determined by your major division
and/or advisor.
You may receive this code
if (1) you have transferred from a United States academic regionally
accredited institution with an earned Associate of Arts (AA) or
Associates of Science (AS) degree, (2) you have transferred from a
United States academic regionally accredited institution and have
completed their general education core courses and have your transcript
noted "Core Certified" by the sending institution, or (3) your
transcript(s) has/have been evaluated against and meet the Idaho State
Board of Education's general education core requirements.
-
If your Transfer Equivalency Report includes a
"CORE-ST" equivalency, you are not responsible for completing any
lower-division (100- or 200- level) or upper division (300- level)
general education core classes
at LCSC. You will receive this code if you have already completed a
bachelor's degree from a United States academic regionally accredited
institution.
-
If you have not met the Idaho State Board
of Education’s general core requirements, your transcript(s) has/have been
evaluated category-for-category, course-by-course against the LCSC General
Education Core (as shown on the back of this page).
You should check the courses and
codes on your evaluation against the Lewis-Clark State College general
education core requirements to determine the core classes you have left to
complete. A transfer class, which will apply towards an area of
LCSC’s general education core, may receive a generic code as listed on the
left of the general education core (e.g. CORE MA), rather than a direct
equivalency with an LC course. You must still meet the minimum credits
necessary to fulfill that core requirement (e.g. four credits are required
to fulfill the math component). You should consult with an advisor to
see if your major requires any specific core classes not otherwise
satisfied.
-
In accordance with policies approved by the Idaho State
Board of Education, the acceptance of credits from community or junior
colleges is uniform for both certification and transfer purposes.
Normally, no more than 70 semester credit hours from a community/junior
college may be transferred toward the 128 semester credit hours required
for the baccalaureate degree. A maximum of 96 semester credit hours
from a four-year institution may be applied toward the 128 semester credit
hours required for the baccalaureate degree. Credits exceeding those
stated above will be entered on your Transfer Equivalency Report as LCSC
accepting zero credits. Your advisor has the ability to swap out
credits as necessary. Please meet with your advisor as soon as
possible to determine the best use of credits to apply towards your
graduation requirements.
