AGING AND THE ELDERLY
Share your talents with the elderly!
Volunteers are needed at L-C Valley Nursing homes and care facilities to
visit with and entertain residents. Help with letter writing, take walks,
read, do arts and crafts, etc.
Idaho Veteran's Home
- Serve those who have served out country; volunteers needed for visits and
activities. Individuals or organizations can Adopt-a-Vet and
honor them with cards or gifts on holidays
and birthdays.
Burrell St. & Millcreek Apts. - Assist senior
citizens with basic computer skills.

Contribute to Hunter's and Wildlife education! Decorate classrooms, inventory,

Center, Gym, Teen Center, or Education Center.

Salvation Army Soup Kitchen -
Volunteers needed to prepare, serve food, and clean up. This is a great
group activity!

Advocate for a child in need! This position requires a time commitment of 10
hours per month for at least a year. A great opportunity for Social Work

Consult with clients to determine their
needs whether it's basic needs or finding community
resources.

Dogwood Festival Event Photographer - Agree
to take photos of 3 or more events listed on the
Dogwood Festival Event
Page Take at least 10 photos per event. Can
keep a copy of your photos for your portfolio! Get
FREE admission to select events and a free Dogwood Festival
t-shirt. Also, get recognized as an official "Friend
of the Festival" on the Dogwood Festival website.

NAIA World Series - Volunteers needed for
NAIA World Series in Lewiston May 25-June 1. Positions
include selling and taking tickets, selling programs,
concession stand help, and ushers. Volunteers receive
a free t-shirst and complimentary admission to all games on

Fish and Game -
ADOPTION PROGRAM
Your group can adopt a cabin or recreational access on Craig
Mountain to care for on your own time.
Habitat Store
If
you're looking for experience in retail, the Habitat Store
is the way to get it. Volunteers will be involved with
the daily operation of the store including sales, displaying
merchandise, receiving and picking up donations, and general
office duties. Hours of operation are Wednesday
through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Habitat
Store resells surplus and donated building materials and
furniture. The funds raised will be used to build an
additional two to four houses each year.
BLOOD DRIVES
Clubs
and organizations are needed to sponsor Red Cross blood
drives on campus. Duties include publicizing the drive and
recruiting volunteers and donors. Red Cross provides
comprehensive "how to" materials to make the job easy.
Salvation Army Soup Kitchen
The Soup Kitchen provides free
meals on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday each week. Volunteers are needed
to help prepare and serve meals and clean up. Food prep shifts run from 3:30
until 5 p.m., serving shifts are from 5 until 6 p.m. and clean up runs from 5:30
until 6:30.
Habitat for Humanity
Get your
club together and spend a day helping make a low-income
family's dream a reality. New Habitat for Humanity homes
are currently being built in the Lewiston area. Volunteers
are needed to help with all phases of homebuilding including
framing walls, painting, installing windows and doors and
everything in between.
FIRST
BOOK-LCSC
First
Book-LCSC provides free books to disadvantaged children in
the area served by LCSC. Sign up your organization to serve
on the Campus Advisory Board, review and award book grants,
publicize the program and plan and conduct fundraising.
Interlink Volunteers - Faith in
ActioN
Interlink's mission to enable senior citizens and others to
live independently in their own homes. They do this by
building wheelchair ramps, installing handrails and fixing
stairs, doing yard work, providing minor home repair and
light housekeeping. They are also recruiting
volunteers to provide "friendly visiting" to local seniors.
lc vALLEY cIRCLES
- Recycle
aluminum cans or other metal scraps for Circle members to
help pay for gas.
