Charlette Kremer,
Interim Program Director
Charlette Kremer served for two years as an AmeriCorps*VISTA in the LC
Service Corps office. In that position she coordinated the Community
Warriors Volunteer Center, First Book-LCSC and Service Learning
activities at Lewis-Clark State College. Charlette graduated from
Lewis-Clark State College in 1991 with a degree in communications.
After college, she joined the staff at KLEW television in Lewiston where
she worked both in front of and behind the camera. In 1994, Charlette
was hired by Regence BlueShield of Idaho where she worked in corporate
communications managing the company’s community relations and employee
recognition programs.
Judy Bittick,
Regional Program Manager
Regional Program Manager Judy Bittick, has over thirteen years
experience in office management and working with non-profit agencies.
Nine of the thirteen years were with Job Corps in Arizona where she was
assistant to the director. Job Corps is a national program for at-risk
youth, giving them the opportunity to receive a GED or high school
diploma, and obtain job skills and job placement assistance.
Judy
has great admiration for AmeriCorps Members who give a year of service.
The backbone of the United States is the citizens across the country
volunteering in their communities and giving back to their country.
Judy’s community service began as a young girl in northern California
where, along with her dad, she helped deliver Christmas trees to those
in need – and she has been hooked ever since!! Judy has always
volunteered in her community and values the importance of giving back.
Most recently her involvement has been with a national environmental
organization and local civic groups.
Judy
moved to Idaho four years ago from Arizona to marry a local Idahoan
after deciding a long distance romance was for the birds! She visits
Arizona as often as possible to spend time with her beautiful grandson
and two children…….. and to warm up physically and emotionally!

Tess
Hendriks, Program Manager
Tess
Hendriks began
her career with Lewis-Clark Service Corps on October 16, 2000. Although she came to our
program with many years of work experience and enjoys working with budgets, computer
software systems, and written communications, her belief in the importance of education,
both formal and informal, helped fuel her attraction to our program.
A late bloomer (Tess asserts that
late blooms last longer), she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree with an English major and
Spanish minor at Lewis-Clark State College in 1998, at the age of 56. Having graduated
with presidential honors and nominated into the Chi Kappa Chapter of Kappa Delta Pi, an
international honor society for education, Tess hopes older adults realize by her
accomplishment, age isn't a fence, but a gate. It's up to you to either lock it
or swing it open.

Barb Syska, Program Assistant
Barb Syska is the program assistant with Lewis-Clark Service Corps
AmeriCorps program. Before being employed by
this program she worked for the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) in
Lewiston where she
worked as an office assistant and Idaho Senior Health Insurance Benefits Administration
(SHIBA) representative. RSVP is under the
same umbrella (Corporation for National Service) as the AmeriCorps program so she was
familiar with
national service.
Barb enjoys working
with people and considers it a privilege to work with the Lewis-Clark Service Corps
members who have donated a year of their lives to tutor and mentor throughout
Idaho.
Jana Mansfield, Office
Assistant
Jana Mansfield is the South Region Program assistant with Lewis-Clark
Service Corps, and the newest member on the team. Before becoming
permanent staff of LCSC, Jana served as an AmeriCorps member from
2001-2003 in Treasure Valley AmeriCorps Consortium. Through her
experience in AmeriCorps, Jana was given a passion for the national
service community; viewing it as an indispensable part of meeting
critical needs within the United States. After leaving AmeriCorps, Jana
re-entered the workforce; spending a year at Boise State University
before meeting her loving husband, Jonathan. They were married October
2, 2005 and are now expecting their first child. Jana is very excited to
be back with AmeriCorps and hopes her experience will be an asset to
AmeriCorps members throughout their term of service.
