year's Faculty/Students Debate will be held this Friday at Noon. Suzanne
Bushfield and Cheryl Dunlop will be the faculty participants. Discussion
ensued regarding the upcoming student fee increases. President Wright will
send a letter to Dr. Meier and Dean Froehlich with the proposal from
Student Government.
Committee Reports:
Curriculum Committee:
Senator Lawyer reported that the Curriculum Committee passed a proposal to
make ENGL 101 a pre or co-requisite to 150 level courses. There is student
concern that this would automatically drop a student from 150 level
courses if they dropped ENGL 101 which could possibly drop their number of
credits too low. For example: If a student is registered for ENGL 101, two
150 level courses, and two other courses for a total of 15 credits, then
that student (for whatever reason) drops the English course, this would
then automatically drop them from the two 150 level courses and drop them
below the 12 credits required for financial aid. There is a resolution on
the agenda regarding this issue.
