ASLCSC Senate Meeting Minutes

March 13, 2001

The meeting was called to order at 4:32 p.m.

Present: Fox, Lawyer, Ochszner, Oglesby, Skow, Redford, Dodge, Nunez

Approval of Minutes of March 6, 2001.
Motion to pass made by Senator Fox, Seconded by Senator Oglesby. Minutes approved as amended.

Dr. Meier - Asked if everybody received the e-mail, he sent out.

Mr. Magruder: Laura is coming back. Comm Board will select a Business Manager and Editor at 3:00 p.m. Thursday in room 225.

Executive Reports:
President Wright: Candace Chenoweth is leaving. BMSA sandwich sale. Mock Trail is meeting Tuesday at 6:30 in MLH 100.

Committee Reports:
Curriculum Committee: Senator Lawyer reported that the Curriculum Committee passed a proposal to have the General Education Committee members go back and find out what general education means. Dan Mayton talked about changes. Faculty Senate discussed changes in the constitution regarding numbers of members to the curriculum committee. One academic senator and one technical senator.

New Business:
Resolution #01-S011 - Room policy amended to #01-S014 motion to pass Lawyer, second Oglesby Resolution Passed.

Resolution #01-S012 - Opera motion to pass Oglesby, second Lawyer. Discussion. Motion to table Redford, Fox. Resolution tabled.

Resolution #01-S013 - Motion Senator Skow, Second Senator Fox. Discussion. Motion to table by Lawyer no second motion fails. Discussion. Motion to table by Senator Lawyer Second by Senator Nunez. Resolution Tabled.

Senate Information Reports:
Senator Lawyer stated that senator Dodge should have been sworn in by the justices.

Senator Nunez discussed that Pat Clyde ask for a survey to be posted in the ASB office and put in warrior watch, The survey deals with financial aid for child care.

Senator Redford discussed the fact that Aaron DeLane did a fantastic job while Laura was gone.

Senator Skow stated that he would look into the issues surrounding international recruiters.

Senator Ochszner Discussed tuition costs at other schools.
