Tenth Senate

 

 

Call to order

The meeting was called to order at 5:30 p.m. in Coeur d’Alene

 

Roll Call

Roll call provided by President Bloomsburg. Those present included: Senators Fragnella, Diaz, Filler, McKee, Frei, Astle and Ojeda. Associate Justices Wittman and Ramirez. President Bloomsburg, Vice President Smith and Media Relations Director Sherpa.

 

Approval of Minutes:

Minutes for April 10, 2007. Motion to approve, Senator Fragnella, second Senator Diaz. Unanimous.

 

Student Government Advisor

■          Ernie Williams- Not present.

 

Student Activities Coordinator

■          Brandon Lytle- Not present.

 

LCSC Administration Communications

■          Not present.

 

Executive Communications

■          President Bloomsburg- Talked about the State Board of Ed meeting on Thursday at U of I. Reminded those attending to fill out their paperwork. Unable to understand most of President Bloomsburg’s speaking. Advised that he received a call from the incoming BSU ASB President about planning a candlelight vigil for Monday. Advised he was in favor of postponing the candlelight vigil so there was more time to advertise for it.

■          Vice-President Smith- Passed out the Leadership award criteria. Passed out the unofficial election results. Student Tech fee committee April 30th. Warriormail meeting will be this Friday, let Matt know if you are interested in that meeting.

■          Media Relations Director Sherpa- will be working on the advertising for the Graduation Banquet. Asked if the CDA members would like to give out their information for the Warrior Spotlight. Talked about getting information out in the Pathfinder about CDA students.

 

Judicial Communications

■          Associate Justice Wittman reported on the unofficial election results. Advised that the results will be official by next Senate meeting.

 

Committee Reports

 Legacy: VP Smith reported that they got what they needed from Margo. Thinking that graduation day in the afternoon during the BBQ would be a good time to do the dedication. Need to get together to talk about this years project.

Alumni: Senator Frei reported they will be meeting tomorrow at 5:30.

Curriculum: Senator Frei reported that they met last Thursday which was the last day for new proposals. Will be going through 58 proposals for second reading at the next meeting.

■          Senate Bill 07-S049: Spring 2007 Stipend Allocations.  Motion to vote Senator Fragnella, second Senator Frei. Roll call vote:  7 yes, 0 no, Bill passed.

Senate Information Reports

■          Senator Ojeda advised she will be doing a presentation on Immigration Issues Friday in SUB 141 at 5:30.   

■          Media Relations Director Sherpa reminded that there is no Roundtable meeting on Thursday.
