Call to order

The meeting was called to order at 4:30 p.m.

 

Roll Call

Present: Senators Arnzen, Astle, Fragnella, Ojeda. Media Relations Director Sherpa, Committees Director Gray.

Excused Absent: President Bloomsburg, Vice President Smith, Chief Justice Vaughan, Senator Frei, Senator Estes, Senator Allen.

Absent: Senator Johnson.  

Audience: Ernie Williams, Maria Lacy, Senate Secretary Myndie VanHorn.

 

Approval of Minutes:

Approval of the minutes for January 16, 2006. Unable to approve due to absences. Tabled.  

 

Student Government Advisor

■          Ernie Williams- Co-Curricular and non-curricular committees have been formed, they are the same as last year. Due date for submissions is February 9 at midnight. The COMM board has appointed Maria Lacy as Interim Editor of the Pathfinder. Taking applications for the position. Applications due February 2nd, will be meeting February 3rd to conduct interviews. Club Fair tomorrow and Thursday from 11:30 to 12:30 in the Solarium. Clubs and Orgs meeting Feb. 2nd at 12:15. Read email from the financial aid office regarding the solicitation of information from the College Financial Advisory so that students can get more financial aid. Advised that this is “bogus” and that information should be spread.

 

Student Activities Coordinator

■          Brandon Lytle- Absent.

 

LCSC Administration Communications

■          No representative.

 

Executive Communications

■          President Bloomsburg- In Boise.  

■          Vice-President Smith- In Boise.

■          Committees Director Gray- Advised he is going over and updating the roster for committees and will be presenting that at the meeting on Thursday. Will be going over that on Thursday to make sure that everyone has the right amount of committees.

■          Media Relations Director Sherpa- Business as usual. Pathfinder will be out tomorrow. The Warrior Spotlight has been changed.

 

Judicial Communications

■          Associate Justice Wittman advised that the Judicial Branch is gearing up for the elections. Associate Justice Zipse is putting together the election packets right now.

Senate Information Reports

■          Senator Ojeda apologized to the Senate for missing the trip to Boise. Advised that she had thought it was next weekend.          

 

Audience Time

■          Senator Astle advised he thought the paper looks good. Maria Lacy showed the new Warrior Spotlight to the Senate.  

■          Ernie advised that Myndie could forward the email regarding the Financial Aid scam.

Motion to adjourn Senator Fragnella, second Senator Arnzen. Unanimous. Meeting adjourned at 4:37 pm.
