Approval of Minutes of November 28, 2000:
Vice President Sonnen - Reported the income and expenses of each ASLCSC account this semester. The Skills USA VICA clubs have planned a car bash during finals week. Please help support the faculty/staff salaries by writing letters to legislators. President Wright stated not to send form letters. Senator Skow and Senator Lawyer gave some helpful comments. ASLCSC will provide postage. The faculty has chartered a bus to go to Boise and meet with legislators.
Dr. Meier - Dan Terrio was invited to the meeting with the Vice Presidents to speak about the Campus Cruiser internet system that he had presented to the ASLCSC. There are some contractual reservations. However, less risks than advantages. They will try to move forward with it. He will keep the Senate advised about the project. Dr. Meier commented on the Craft Fair. He liked the look of it and the energy that was there. He thinks it was very successful.
Mr. Magruder - Announcement - the SUB sub-committee is meeting in SUB 225 tomorrow at 3:00 p.m. He circulated the College Bulletin for Union Buildings. U of I is on the front and NIC is also within the bulletin. Hopefully we will get our picture in there some day. He attended a Strategic Planning meeting and was fascinated with the fact sheet. He shared some of them with the Senate such as student demographics. This fact sheet will be made available if you would like it. Also, Mr. Magruder echoed Dr. Meier's comments on the Craft Fair. Job well done.
Craft Fair - Vice President Sonnen reported. There will be some follow-up regarding some comments and suggestions received while interviewing vendors. Some of the vendors would like to use the SUB again next year and want to make a confirmation now for next year. The Senate would need to make the decision whether or not to take applications now for next year.
Faculty Senate - Vice President Sonnen reported. The resolution regarding the technical core classes was a good thing. Provost Rita Morris is going to meet with Kevin Dodge regarding this issue.
Senate Information Reports: Senate Majority Leader Ochszner - No Round Table meeting on Thursday.
Motion to adjourn, Senator Skow, Second Senator Heath. Meeting Adjourned at 5:02 p.m.
