ASLCSC Senate Meeting Minutes
November 21, 2000

The meeting was called to order at 4:30 p.m.

Present: Fox, Heath, Lawyer, Ochszner, Skow, Redford, Steinhauer, McCoy, Nunez
Absent: Alrick - excused

Approval of Minutes of November 14, 2000: Motion Senator Heath, Second Senator McCoy
Minutes approved as written.

Mr. Magruder - Reported that the number of recognized clubs has increased.

Executive Reports:
President Wright - Spoke briefly about the ISA meeting in Boise December 1-2. Senator Lawyer and Senator McCoy plan to attend with President Wright. Senator McCoy will be able to attend both days.

Vice President Sonnen - Requested that Senators turn in their SRI student comment sheets to her by next Tuesday.

Committee Reports:
Ways & Means: The committee is moving along on the Bylaws and will present more bills soon.

Ethics Committee: Senator McCoy reported that the Ethics Committee met and approved this semesters stipends.

Faculty Senate: Senator Nunez plans to step down from his position on the Faculty Senate and he encourages someone to take his place on this important committee.

A motion was made by Senator Fox to amend the agenda to include Resolution 00-F005. Senator McCoy seconded. Motion carried.

New Business:
Senate Resolution 00-F005 - The author, Vice President Sonnen, would like to amend the bill to read "See attached." and also to change the 2nd Section 2 to "Section 4". Amendment approved.
Motion to approve the amended Resolution Senator Skow. Second Senator Nunez. Discussion.
9 yes votes. Resolution passed.

Funding: A motion was made by Senator McCoy and Seconded by Senator Skow to remove the SOSW proposal from consideration. Discussion. Vote - 5 yes, 2 no, 2 abstentions.

A motion was made by Senator Skow and Seconded by Senator Heath to halt Parliamentary
Procedure for the remainder of the discussion regarding funding. Motion carried.

Clubs and Organizaqtions funding was discussed and the outcome will be written up in bill form
to be voted on at next Tuesday's Senate Meeting.

A motion was made by Senator Fox and seconded by Senator Steinhauer to resume Parliamentary
Procedure. Motion carried.

Senate Information Reports:
Senator Lawyer stated that Senate shirts must be paid for before stipend checks will be issued.

Audience Time:
Senator Lawyer - suggested having pictures with Santa at our Craft Fair. Vice President Sonnen stated that there aren't enough children in attendance and not enough time to plan.

Motion by Senator Skow for an Executive Session. Seconded by Senator Lawyer. Motion carried.
