Whereas: Many literature and research based clubs and organizations have
                been eliminated from numerous funding opportunities on campus.
                These students pay fees equal to the rest of the student body and
                they are not receiving equal attempts at campus funds like Co-
                Curricular Fees and Institutional Development.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE ASLCSC SENATE:
Section 1: The process of getting papers chosen to present at conferences
                 falls in the category of academic competition.

Section 2: The skills that literature and research based clubs and
                organizations use and learn at their conferences are equivalent
                to other competitions chosen by Business, Communication,
                Mock Trial and others students.

Section 3: This resolution will pass upon a two-thirds (2/3) vote of the
                ASLCSC Senate and the signature of the ASLCSC President
