8 Whereas: Members of the Executive, Legislative and Judicial Branches of the

9 ASLCSC have taken an oath to uphold the ASLCSC

10 Constitution and By-Laws

11 Whereas: Members of the ASLCSC Judicial Branch have presented an official

12 Judicial Ruling dated October 8, 2004 on the Coeur d’Alene

13 Standing Committee

14 Whereas: Members of the ASLCSC Ways & Means Committee are currently

15 in session for resolutions and establishment of By-Laws or policies

16 Whereas: Members of the Executive, Legislative and Judicial Branches of the

17 ASLCSC represent all students of Lewis-Clark State College

18 Whereas: President Vincent Martinez has presented cognizant views and desires

19 for an amicable cohesion.

20 Whereas: In our United States history on June 16, 1858 at 8:00 p.m., Abraham

21 Lincoln stated, “A house divided against itself cannot stand.”

23 THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE ASLCSC SENATE:

25 Section 1: Members of the ASLCSC Senate will continue to “faithfully adhere to

26 the constitution, bylaws, and other policies of the ASLCSC” as stated

27 in Article II, Section 6 of the ASLCSC Constitution

28 Section 2: As stated in the October 8, 2004 Judicial Ruling there can only be

29 “one association that governs the student body of LCSC . . . ”

30 Section 3: Members of the ASLCSC Senate will adhere to the findings of the

31 Judicial Ruling and the Ways & Means Committee

32 Section 4: Members of the ASLCSC Senate support President Vincent

33 Martinez’s efforts of alliance and cohesion

34 Section 5: Members of the ASLCSC Senate support constitutional solidarity

35 Section 6: This resolution will pass upon a two-thirds (2/3) vote of the

36 ASLCSC Senate and the signature of the ASLCSC President
