10 Whereas:
The duties of each student government official have increased.

12 Whereas:
The current stipends were put in place when the ASLCSC Constitution
13 was ratified January 28, 1997.

15 Whereas: Requiring a Constitutional Amendment to increase or decrease stipend
16 amounts could force current members of the ASLCSC running for
17 ASLCSC Governmental positions to abstain and thus fail the
18 Resolution and make increases or decreases in stipend amounts nearly
19 impossible.

24 THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE ASLCSC SENATE:

1: Article VII be removed from the ASLCSC Constitution.

2: The proposed constitutional change will be placed on the April
29 20-21st general election ballot and be
ratified by a majority of the
30 votes cast.

3: Any future proposed By-Law amendment that would increase or
41 decrease ASLCSC stipend amounts made
public in the school
42 newspaper at least 3 weeks before a vote
could be taken in the
43 ASLCSC
Senate, so as to allow the students time to voice their

opinions.

4: This resolution will pass upon a two-thirds (2/3) vote of the
47 ASLCSC Senate and the signature of the
ASLCSC President.
