                                              Resolution        #05-S012

                                                                                            Authored By:  Senator Rodgers

Whereas: The students of Lewis-Clark Sate College have expressed a desire and a

need to keep student fees as low as possible without taking away from

the academic and fiscal integrity of the school.

Whereas: The State has mandated health insurance for all students taking more

                        than 8 credits per semester.

Whereas: The current expected premiums for next years State mandated student

health insurance will be over $300.00 a semester.

Whereas: This extreme increase in student health insurance will, in all likelihood,

force some students to attend Lewis-Clark State College part time, thus,

avoiding having to pay for the State mandated health insurance.

Whereas:  Those students that attend Lewis-Clark State College on a part time

basis will not be eligible for the amount of financial aid the would have

received had they been full time students, and duly causing said

students to have to pay more out of pocket funds for their education.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE ASLCSC SENATE:

Section 1: If part time and summer school fees at Lewis-Clark State College are to

be increased that they be increased by no more then 5.85%, or $10.00,

above the $171.00 paid per part time and summer school credit for the

                         2004-2005 academic year.

ASLCSC Senate and the signature of the ASLCSC President.
