5 Resolution #05-S012
6
Authored By: Senator Rodgers
7
8 Whereas: The students of
9 need to keep student fees as low as
possible without taking away from
10 the academic and fiscal integrity of the
school.
11
12 Whereas: The State has mandated health
insurance for all students taking more
13 than 8 credits per semester.
14
15 Whereas: The current expected premiums
for next
16 health insurance will be over $300.00 a
semester.
17
18 Whereas: This extreme increase in
student health insurance will, in all likelihood,
19 force some students to attend Lewis-Clark
State College part time, thus,
20 avoiding having to pay for the State
mandated health insurance.
21
22 Whereas:
Those students that attend Lewis-Clark State College on a part time
23 basis will not be eligible for the amount
of financial aid the would have
24 received had they been full time students,
and duly causing said
25 students to have to pay more out of pocket
funds for their education.
25
26 THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE ASLCSC
SENATE:
27
28 Section 1: If part time and summer
school fees at Lewis-Clark State College are to
29 be increased that they be increased by no
more then 5.85%, or $10.00,
30 above the $171.00 paid per part time and
summer school credit for the
31 2004-2005 academic year.
32
33 Section 2: This resolution will pass
upon a 2/3 majority vote of the
34 ASLCSC Senate and the signature of the
ASLCSC President.
