Fourth Senate                                                       Second Regular Session

                                 In the Senate

                                 Senate Resolution #01-S011
                                 Authored By: Majority Leader Ochszner

Whereas: The ASLCSC is aware of the financial shortfalls due to a drop in
enrollment, resulting in a need to raise fees to maintain current
operations. However, the students of LCSC should not be held
accountable for administration’s failure in recruitment and
                retention efforts

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE ASLCSC SENATE:

Section 1: The Matriculation Fee increase of $54.00 and the overall Total
Full-Time Fee increase of $94.50 is overly excessive.

Section 2: With the rise in enrollment from Fall 2000 to Spring 2001, raising
fees this drastically because of a drop in enrolment is premature.

Section 3: There needs to be more emphasis in the future on student recruitment
and retention to limit the financial burden off current students.

Section 4: This resolution will pass upon a two-thirds (2/3) vote of the
ASLCSC Senate and the signature of the ASLCSC President
