Fourth
Senate
Second Regular Session
In the Senate
Senate Resolution #01-S015
Authored By: Vice President Melinda Sonnen
WHERE AS: Currently, full time students in Extended Programs
pay into the
Co-Curricular Fee, with no access to that fee. Currently,
the many
services that are conducted by ASLCSC government members
address needs and concerns for students in extended programs,
but
have no means to support those students. In addition to the
availability of the funds, students in Extended Programs are
unable to vote for the governmental members due to the current
constitution of ASLCSC.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE ASLCSC SENATE:
Section 1: The Co-Curricular fee should not be applied to full
time Extended
Program students.
Section 2: Students in extended programs also need some form of
funds
where the increase to extended fees could be placed into
student government at the same rate as students on campus. The
change in the constitution is dependent on those students paying
into ASLCSC. Before students from extended programs pay into
such a fee there needs to be established guidelines of how
this fee is distributed.
Section 3: A constitutional change needs to be made to allow
students in
extended programs the opportunity to vote for the delegates that
represent their interest on the LCSC campus (see
resolution 01-SO16)
Section 4: This resolution will pass upon a two-thirds
(2/3) vote of the
ASLCSC Senate and the signature of the ASLCSC President
