8 Whereas: Office Policy in the Sam Glenn Complex prohibits student

9 uses of the office phones for any purpose.

11 Whereas: The only option to students to make a phone call is a pay phone,

12 even to call another office on campus.

14 Whereas: The Sam Glenn Complex location on campus is relatively distant

15 to other buildings with courtesy phones. Students in the

16 Sam Glenn Complex may not have the time to come to the other

17 side of campus between classes.

19 Whereas: The Learning Resource Center has moved from Reid Centennial Hall,

20 where a courtesy phone was available for student use, to the Sam Glenn

21 Glenn Complex.

23 Whereas: Courtesy phones are installed at other locations about campus.

25 Whereas: Courtesy phones are inexpensive to install and maintain.

27 THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE ASLCSC SENATE:

29 Section 1: The members of the ASLCSC support the installation of a

30 courtesy phone in the Sam Glenn Complex for student use.

32 Section 2: This resolution will pass upon a two-thirds (2/3) vote of the

33 ASLCSC Senate and the signature of the ASLCSC President
