                                              Resolution        # 05-F001

                                                                                            Authored By:  Senator Hanson

Whereas: The SUB Board has allocated to the Faculty Senate the use of one of the

club offices in the Student Union Building.

Whereas: There are other facilities available for the Faculty Senate’s use, and

the Faculty Senate already has space reserved for faculty use on the

                        lower floor of the SUB.

Whereas: The Student Union Building is woefully short of space for club offices.

Whereas: The Student Union Building is the only building on campus dedicated

to the use of the student body.

Whereas: The SUB Board’s decision creates an unfortunate precedent of ceding

control over the SUB to non-student organizations.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE ASLCSC SENATE:

Section 1: That the decision to allocate said use is unwise and unnecessary, and

should be reconsidered and rescinded at the earliest opportunity.

Section 2: That SUB Board policy should dictate that the needs of student clubs

and organizations be given consideration over faculty, staff and/or

administration desires when room allocation decisions are made.

Section 3: This resolution will pass upon a two-thirds (2/3) vote of the

ASLCSC Senate and the signature of the ASLCSC President.
