9
10 Whereas: The ITPG-13 sub-committee was created for
the purpose of assessing
11 the learning environment of LCSC and making
recommendations
12 for
improvements to the LC Campus.
13
14 Whereas: The findings of the ITPG-13 sub-committee were that classrooms
15 with the greatest amount of technology available provided the best
16 learning environment.
17
18 Whereas: Campus computer labs do not receive even distribution of funding
19 for technological upgrades, and due to high costs associated with
20
printing, must charge for printing.
22 Whereas: Majors requiring cutting edge technology, such as Information
23 Systems Analysis Technical & Industrial (ISATI) and Engineering
24 Technology, are losing enrollment due to antiquated equipment.
25
26 Whereas: Implementing
more technology on campus would not only benefit
27 current
students, but would also facilitate teaching as well as
28 recruitment
and retention of students.
29
30 Whereas: It is important to remember that all
Technical and Industrial students
31 pay
money into the Student Technology Fee and deserve to see
32 some
of the money put into their programs.
33
34 THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE ASLCSC
SENATE:
