Hellman Named Region Player of the Week

LEWISTON, ID-
Lewis-Clark State outfielder Matt Hellman (Burbank, CA) was named the NAIA Region I Player of the Week, Tuesday, April 17th.

Hellman batted .480 with three doubles, three home runs, and drove in ten runs for the week ending April 15th. His walk off three-run homer against Washington State helped guide the Warriors to a 4-2 week.

Hellman leads the team in batting (.402), hits (72), doubles (18), runs scored (48), and total bases (105). He leads the Region in each of the categories except batting average. He has also registered 24 multi-hit games, the most on the squad, and has tied Trevor Brown’s season-high 18-game hitting streak, and is still carrying the streak going into today’s game at Whitman.

Hellman is the second Warrior to be named Region Player of the Week. Yoshi Kimura received the honor April 2nd.
